Well, I must say, I tried to be nothing but festive while working on these multi-dangle earrings but quite a few swear words were uttered. Under my breath, and to myself, but nontheless, some frustration.  I don't remember it being quite so difficult when I made my first attempt with some Halloween earrings, but I am still new to the multi-dangle style and to working with jump rings.

More fun with Christmas earrings - this time in a more holly jolly, fun and festive mood.   I recently found these shiny metallic coloured beads in a variety of colours, and with etched accents that have almost a holographic effect in that they reflect many colours as they move.

Yesterday's crafting session was back to the Christmas earrings, and this time my primary focus was these 14mm multi-colour rhinestone beads.  I thought it might be more productive if I focused on one element - which was these stunning beads - worked up with a variety of charms and other focal beads.

Well, well, it looks like someone has given herself nearly a week off of craft blogging.  It happens quickly doesn't it?  Actually, I've been very busy crafting - I made this one pair of Halloween earrings!  Ahh, but it's what this one pair of earrings represents - that's the thing.

Packaging Earrings for Display

My friend and I recently rented a craft table at a local event. We're both new to this, and for me it was a great excercise in digging out all the various things I've made which have ended up in boxes.

Things were all tucked away, but so tucked away that I'd lost track of what I actually had made.  There were boxes of boxes of boxes of various and miscellaneous. Hmmm..  There still are some, if I'm being honest, but I am happy to say there are less of them.

More work today making and photographing earrings and I am trying to develop a system.  Photograph ... edit and select photos ... upload one to catalogue (sorted by colour and style) ... make some more things.    The next series of steps involve sharing on the blog, and then creating an Etsy listing.  Phew.  I need an assistant.  Really wish I could just fiddle with the pretty beads.

Forgotten February / Peace Out

Yikes!  Quite the absence for me - all of a sudden - in the craft blogging world.  I can't believe where the last few weeks have gone ... the "forgotten February".  It's amazing how quickly the time passes,  and I guess the thing is to just stick with it until things become habit.

Another item 'catalogued' today were these pretty little butterfly earrings. Being a natural subject, I thought I'd keep them in soft and neutral shades.

Christmas Earrings

A quick scan through the blogs I follow tells me I've got some catching up to do! Goodness me, another month rolls by and I can't believe it's October. Definitely time to get a push on with Christmas things and I've been doing some catching up with photography and posting things on Etsy today.

These were the first Christmas earrings I made after finding these lovely stirling silver charms. Struck me they wanted to be long dangly so I've worked them up with 3 feature beads - crystal for the snowflakes and emerald green for the Christmas trees - and no question they wanted to be sparkly.

And this is the second batch - an antique bronze look Christmas charm which I've done a little less dangly in options of red, gold, green or snowy white.

The coloured feature beads are among my favourites - miracle beads for the red and gold (and they are so much nicer than they will photograph for me), the lime green beads are an interesting shape and come from a vintage piece I'm recycling, and the milky white beads were a surprise which I will definitely be getting more of. I'm not sure which colour I'd choose.

Silver Earrings

More and more these days I'm wishing that I still had pierced ears, as I am thoroughly enjoying making earrings. Nice little projects, they give you more time for creativity without all the time for finishing. It's very zen.

Kaleidoscope Earrings

I haven't had pierced ears since about 1990, but these earrings are making me wish that I did. These little guys have all my favourite things - the liquid silver seed beads in large and small, the funky little square bead, some interesting crystals, and focal beads that remind me both of my favourite pop socks in the 70's and the windows of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Gold Heart Earrings

I got these pretty little gold hearts at the bead shop. Perfect for some cute earrings I thought. I think I have enough hearts for four or five sets, so will have to come up with a few variations - though I am leaning towards keeping them all gold and crystal.

Antique Earrings in the Garden

It's just sooo nice outside today that I couldn't resist turning a project into an outside project - so I experimented with photographing some new earrings in the back garden. Definitely a concept to play with - perhaps next time when there aren't such heavy gusts of wind.
