I've been making steady progress with my mini trees and their tree skirts, and there is a nice little blizzard of snowflakes ready and put away for the craft show.  With the holidays getting closer and the fact that my supply was quickly dwingling, it was finally time to get back to some cards and gift tags.

Birthday Gift Tags with Foam Embellishments

There has been a bit of a paper craft gift tag theme this week-end and can you believe it they're not ALL Christmasy.   I couldn't resist these colourful foamy characters with googly eyes (that's the best bit) and I thought they'd make cute gift tags with my circle punches and some co-ordinating papers.  Owls seem to be extraordinarily popular these days.  Especially the purple ones ;)

Happy Birthday Mum!

It's my Mum's Birthday today. Happy Birthday Mum!  This is the card that I made, and it has a special significance that I hope my Mum will get.  Some time in the 70's we had a bathroom that was decorated with smiley face wallpaper - oh yes! - and accessories to match.  It was my favourite bar none.  Given the style of my Mum's normal decorating, I think I may have had a hand in picking out the famous wallpaper - but we all ended up liking it.

Well, all the craft supplies are coming out it seems!  Just what I need - lol.  Not!  But anyway, it is what it is.  My mother has a birthday coming up so I thought  I'd better get in gear and make her a birthday card.  I am very happy with how it has turned out but the glue is still drying so I will show you that one another day.

Christmas Snowflake Gift Tags

I've been busy making gift tags!  They're so pretty that I think you could use them as ornaments on your tree - and I definitely can see the appeal of that as they would pack away nice and flat!

Oh paper crafts ... how I have missed you.  It was my intention ages ago to get to some card making after a few little beading projects, but somehow that developed into quite a large production - which, in truth, is still occupying the majority of the living room table.

I've been making up a few more Valentine cards- this time with a view to "kitting them up".   This way I get to assemble the supplies and see what comes together.  I have always loved making things - but if I break it down  - one of my favourite aspects is gathering all the "bits" that I know I'll use some day.  The fun for me is when it all comes together.

More Valentines and getting sorted

 Goodness me ... this isn't a good sign.  Only half way into January and I'm already thinking "where is this year going?"  I don't know about you, but I feel like Christmas was just a few days ago. I suppose with all the post-holiday-clear-away activities it's small wonder.  I have been busy - while I have many of the paper craft supplies taking over the dining room - making a few more Valentine cards.

 I've been on a bit of a crafty roll lately, and far be it for me to want to get in the way of that. It is fun to make things - and a nice break from the computer to get back to traditional "making" methods.  I'm finding ways to to turn my attention to things I haven't done before or in ages.

Santa's turn today

Jolly little Santa's were next on the agenda while all the card making gear is out. I must say, I have memories of Mr. Dress-Up as I open the lid on my 'tickle trunk' of 'Christmas bits' and ponder one by one what to do with the various treasures inside.

Snowmen take over the dining room

I've taken over the dining room table today because I'm hoping this week to make some time for some serious card making. I have oodles of things to play with and they need a lot of space - it can be a little overwhelming - but this first project in the stash busting is nice and simple.

A friend of mine suggested selling my home made cards on Etsy, so I thought I would have a go with putting together some assorted box sets.

Finally, some nice weather! And a surprise too as they were predicting the umpteenth day of rain. Much has sprouted up in the garden the last few days and the green is super vibrant when you get to see it against a blue sky! Sooooo pretty!

Santa Gift Tags

Does anyone know what happened to March? Yikes - only 8 posts last month I must try to do better. Plus it's always fun to see what other craft bloggers are up to as I always seem to get distracted checking out other blogs when I'm updating mine.
